Our smile makeovers are a great package put together by our team for those patients who worry about the state of smile. Maybe they have slightly discoloured teeth, a gap at the front of their teeth or are missing one or two. If so, we can help.

A smile makeover consists of cosmetic dental treatments and techniques which will help to keep your smile unique, but at the same time repair the little niggles you may have with it, leaving you to beam with happiness throughout the day, instead of hiding your smile due to your self-consciousness.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth.

A bridge is made up of two crowns and a replacement tooth. The two crowns are affixed to the teeth, known as abutment teeth, are adjacent to the gap. The replacement tooth is high quality porcelain or ceramic that is colour-matched to existing teeth and strong enough to provide full functionality. Dental bridges can be supported by natural teeth or implants.

At your consultation and exam visit, your Hatch End Dental dentist will ensure that your abutment teeth are capable of supporting your dental bridge or will make the determination that dental implants are appropriate support surrogates.

Once your treatment plan is established and discussed with you in detail, your dentist will begin the treatment process, which will include:

Preparation of the abutment teeth - re-contouring to allow for crown placement
Teeth impressions are taken - these will serve as a model for the dental lab
Temporary bridge made and placed - protection for exposed abutment teeth and gums

When your permanent bridge is completed, you will return for your second visit where your dentist will remove the temporary bridge and replace it with your new, custom-made permanent bridge. The fit and feel will be checked thoroughly to ensure your bite is correct and your dental bridge is properly in place. We will encourage you to contact us if you encounter any difficulties or discomfort, and will schedule a follow up visit to re-check fit and bite alignment.

Dental bridges can last 5 to 15 years, or even longer, with proper oral maintenance and regular checkups.

Dentures

There are several types of dentures, so when you attend the practice for a consultation on the matter, your dentist will discuss your options with you, and recommend one of the following dependent on your requirements.

Removeable dentures.
Partial dentures.
Implant-supported dentures.

Ensuring our patients have the highest levels of comfort follow procedures such as this is obviously our top priority, so following your denture fitting you will be offered a follow-up appointment for us to make sure things are running smoothly and that you are happy with the finished work. If you require any adjustment to be made they can be done on-site during your follow-up visit.
